Roofers in York since 2010
A York roofing company that does the work itself
EJL is a family-run roofing company based in Acomb. Elliott quotes every job himself, and the same small team that surveys your roof is the team that fixes it. We have no subcontractors and no sales staff, and every roof we work on carries a 20-year written guarantee.
Most of our work is inside the ring road, and York's roofs vary a lot from street to street. Inside the walls we work on listed Georgian buildings in Welsh slate and lead. Around Bootham, Holgate and Clifton there are Victorian terraces with clay pantiles and tall chimney stacks. Acomb, Tang Hall and Heworth have inter-war semis that are due a concrete tile reroof or new fascias. We quote all of them the same way: a free survey, then a fixed written price within 24 hours. You can read more about conservation and period roofing in York on its own page.
We publish our prices. A small repair starts from about £150, and a full reroof on a three-bed semi in York usually costs £5,500 to £9,000. Our York roof replacement cost guide explains what moves the price.

Re-roof, York
Got 3 quotes in total — EJL were by far the most competitive and had been recommended by someone I trusted. Communication was excellent throughout and the finish on the roof is faultless.

Ridge tiles, Copmanthorpe
I would highly recommend EJL. I was given Elliott's name from my neighbour who'd had work done. Rebedded and replaced my ridge tiles. Brilliant communication throughout.
