What's the 2-hour callback promise?
If you ring or WhatsApp us between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday or 8am to 2pm Saturday, we'll ring you back within 2 hours. That's the promise. Outside those hours we'll see your message first thing the next working day. The 2-hour promise is conditional on Elliott's actual capacity (he's a working roofer, not a call centre) but we hit it almost every time.
How fast can you actually attend an emergency?
For active leaks during business hours we can usually be on-site the same day or the next morning. In severe-weather periods (storms, high winds) we prioritise active leaks over routine survey appointments. The honest answer is we're a small family team so "same hour" isn't a promise we can make, but "same day or next morning" usually is.
What does emergency roof repair cost in York?
Temporary make-safe (tarpaulin, weighted batten, tape) typically £180 to £350. Same-day or next-day reactive repair £250 to £750 depending on scope. Substantial storm damage may need a follow-up visit for the permanent fix. We don't charge an emergency premium over our normal rates.
Will you provide a written report for an insurance claim?
Yes, on request. We can provide a written assessment with photographs suitable for buildings insurance, including the cause of damage where evident, the scope of work, and the cost. Most insurers accept our reports directly without independent assessor visits for residential roof damage under £5,000.
Do you work weekends or out of hours?
Saturday morning 8am to 2pm is part of our standard hours. We don't routinely work Sundays. We don't operate a 24/7 line because we'd rather under-promise and over-deliver than the other way round. Same-day Monday morning response to a Saturday-evening message is realistic.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. £2 million public liability cover with Aviva. Insurance certificate available on request before any work starts. We won't ask you to use your own insurance to cover our work.
Can you make a roof temporarily safe and come back to fix it properly?
Yes. That's the most common emergency callout we do. Stop the active leak with a tarpaulin or temporary patch, weight it down, then return within a week to do the proper repair. The temporary make-safe is included in the final price if we do the permanent fix.
