Which covering is best for a garage roof?
For most garages we recommend EPDM single-ply rubber: one continuous sheet, no joints to fail, 25 to 40 year lifespan, competitive on cost. GRP fibreglass suits garages where you want a hard-wearing finish or awkward upstand detailing. Felt is the lowest-cost option but the shortest-lived at 15 to 25 years.
How long does a garage roof replacement take?
A standard single garage is two to three working days for EPDM or GRP, including stripping the old covering and replacing any rotten deck boards. Larger or complex roofs take four to six days. The roof is weather-tight at the end of every working day.
Can you repair my garage roof instead of replacing it?
Yes, where the covering is mostly sound and the failure is localised. Patches on EPDM bond with EPDM glue and seam tape, GRP repairs take a fresh laminate, felt repairs are heat-bonded. We are honest at the survey about when a repair is sensible and when replacement is the better call, and if a small repair buys you ten years we will not sell you a new roof.
My garage roof is corrugated cement sheet. Can you replace it?
Older corrugated cement sheets can contain asbestos, so the first step is identifying what is actually on the roof. We assess it at the free survey and talk you through the right way to deal with it before anything is quoted or disturbed. Once the old sheets are properly dealt with, the replacement itself is straightforward.
Do you guarantee garage roofs?
Twenty-year workmanship guarantee in writing on every garage roof we replace. Manufacturer warranties on top: 20 years on EPDM, 20 to 25 years on GRP, 15 years on felt. Both issued with the final invoice.
