Round the ring road
From the old village to the new estates
Huntington is two roofing worlds in one place, and we work in both every week.
Most of Huntington is modern housing. The estates around Huntington South Moor, New Lane and the streets near Monks Cross are concrete interlocking tile, a lot of it laid from the 1980s onwards and now at the age where the bedded ridge starts to crack and lift. That is the bread-and-butter work here, ridge re-bedding or a dry-fix upgrade, slipped tiles, and the fascias, soffits and guttering that go at much the same time. The older village core around All Saints and North Lane is more traditional, and New Earswick alongside is something else again, with its Joseph Rowntree garden-village cottages.
From Acomb it is a short run round the outer ring road, so Huntington sits well inside our home patch. An active leak can often be seen the same day and a free survey is usually booked within the working week. Where a job touches the New Earswick conservation area we check the position first and price for like-for-like materials so the street still looks right.
